Thomas Mauriello is admitted to practice law in California, as well as in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania (inactive). He is active in numerous bar associations and community organizations.
From 2017 through 2023, Mr. Mauriello served on the Board of Directors of the Public Investors Advocate Bar Association (WWW.PIABA.ORG) a nationwide bar association of attorneys representing investors in disputes with the securities industry. He also has served as Treasurer and Secretary of PIABA and has co-chaired numerous Committees over the years.
For over a decade, Mr. Mauriello has served as an arbitrator with the Mandatory Attorney Client Fee Arbitration program sponsored by the Orange County Bar Association. In that capacity he has acted as an arbitrator on dozens of cases involving attorneys’ fee disputes between lawyers and clients. He also served for many years on the OCBA’s Administration of Justice Committee, a blue-ribbon committee tasked with preparing comments on proposed legislation and jury instructions, submitted to the California Legislature on behalf of the OCBA.
Mr. Mauriello is a member of the Hon. William B. Enright Inn of Court in San Diego, which is an American Inn of Court composed of lawyers and judges from all levels and backgrounds. Through regular meetings, members are able to build professional relationships, discuss legal and law practice issues, share experiences and advice, and provide mentoring opportunities.
Mr. Mauriello is a volunteer mentor through the Crawford Academy of Law program, in which volunteer attorneys provide mentoring to Crawford High School students. This academy-style, school-within-a-school themed education program provides a positive understanding of the legal system and its role in society and creates a source of engagement for students who are “at risk,” and it has been successful in bridging the achievement gap and increasing high school graduation and college-going rates.
Mr. Mauriello is a Member of the Business and Corporate Law Section and the Elder Law Section of the San Diego County Bar Association.
In the past, Mr. Mauriello has volunteered his time with numerous other community groups, including Big Brothers, Volunteers in Parole, and the San Diego AIDS Project.
